| CARMEN
MICHELETTI Senior Trainer/Owner-Paso
Largo Farm Carmen Micheletti was too busy running
things at the Paso Largo Farm to sit down and think of a quote. But during these
past couple of months developing this website and gathering everything you see
here, I have been watching Carmen with the horses and the numerous other interactions
she has at the farm each day. So, though Carmen didn't say it, I personally cannot
help but think of the quote from the movie The Horse Whisperer as Carmen
Michelliti's take on horses and their Training. When Tom Booker (played by Robert
Redford) was asked if he was the one who helped people with horse |

problems, he replied "Truth is, I help horses with people
problems." I found this quote to be relevant, as Carmen's training philospies
and techniques are not limited to the training of horses, but also focus on the
education of their riders. Carmen Micheletti has had a life-long
love affair with horses, specifically Paso Finos. In 1983, her dream of owning
a farm became a reality, and she has lived and breathed nothing but Paso Finos
since. I believe Carmen has been riding horses since before
she could walk. She has won numerous prizes for her expertise, including a World
Championship in the Dominican Republic. From hiring the
right staff, to making sure all the horses receive proper exercise and nutrition,
her focus is always on what is beneficial for the horse. Maybe
Carmen isn't a real Horse Whisperer... but she is the closest thing to one I have
ever met. - Written by Karen Nall, PeachWeb.Biz |

| TONY
MICHELETTI Senior Trainer/Owner-Paso
Largo Farm Tony Micheletti was too busy
getting his hands dirty, ensuring that everything at the Paso Largo Farm was in
tiptop shape, to sit down and think of a quote, or even tell me a little about
his experience. But, as I have with his wife Carmen, I have been watching Tony
working with the horses and performing the numerous chores he personally sees
to completion at the farm each day. So, though Tony didn't say it, I cannot help
but think of a quote from an anonymous source as I watch him work so hard each
and every day. "I live in a house but my home is in the stable." |
|
I found this quote to be relevant, in many ways. Not only does
Tony work diligently to ensure a clean, safe environment for the horses, but he
also loves them dearly. If he is not performing a chore, then he is on the back
of one of his many favorite horses. When I leave there at the end of the day,
I wonder if Tony will be spending the night there in the barn, as his work day
seems never-ending. Sometimes, I picture he and his wife, happily snuggled up
in the stall of Petrolero or Vital. Wide awake or fast asleep, either way, they
are living their dream. But, Tony Micheletti is far more
than just a ranch hand helping Carmen with the farm. He has had many years of
experience with horses, and when he and Carmen became a couple and a team, he
was quick to start paving the way that he and his beloved wife might realize their
dream of owning a farm. But, he would not be satisfied with just owning a farm
with horses. Tony has made it his life's ambition to improve the Paso Fino breed.
He has studied and has vast experience in the art of combining bloodlines for
optimal births. Tony is completely focused on developing a pristine line of fino
Pasos...supreme Paso Finos. From my perspective, if you look at the inventory
of horses born on their farm, he is doing a fantastic job. And,
being one of those people who are just good at many things, Tony is also an expert
rider. He has too many prizes to list. To see the plethora of ribbons, trophies
and certifications in their office makes one's mind boggle. He
is also one of the sweetest, kindest and most modest men you will ever encounter.
He always has a joke handy and is quick to diffuse any difficult situation. Working
with the Micheletti's has been a true pleasure for me and I cannot wait for them
to have a clinic here locally because I will be one of the first there, eager
to glean any wisdom they care to impart. -
